Czech Republic - VAT - 03/27/2007

The Ministry of Finance has published an information regarding the reduced VAT rate of 5% for buildings and apartments after 31 December 2007, when the exception negotiated between the Czech Republic and the EU expires. According to the new proposals, all apartments and buildings with more than 50% of their floor area dedicated to housing purposes and other specific buildings defined by legislation will be subject to the 5% VAT rate.
